Crisis Communication Strategies in Post-Pandemic World
It is more than two years since my first book Crisis Communication Strategies was published and three years since I started writing it. In that time there has been a lot happening in the world. The pandemic, war in Europe, cost of living crisis as well as floods, fires, natural disasters and many reputational issues.
Three years on it is great to have the opportunity to revisit my book and look at what needs to be changed, included or updated. A second edition of the book is due out in March 2023 and I am currently working on the changes. There will be some new and up to date crisis case studies.
New sections will be included on diversity and inclusivity within the crisis communication response, behavioural communication and how it can relate to the response, and what to consider in managing a long-term crisis.
If you have an aspect of crisis communication and response that you feel hasn’t been covered either in my original book or other publications get in touch and let me know. I want to ensure the second edition continues to be a practical support to communicators when they are faced with a crisis.
Send any thoughts to me at amanda@amandacolemancomms.co.uk stating what the issue is and why you think it is important.
International Communication Awards
I was delighted to be asked to be Jury Chair for the Davos Communications Awards 2022 from the World Communication Forum Association. It was amazing to see such excellent PR and communication work that was happening around the world. It seems there is a lot to celebrate in Brazil where the Sherlock Communication team won a number of awards. And it was emotional to see Sergii Bidenko rewarded for his work and the Ukrainian PR association. I am sure everyone offers their support to those communicators working in Ukraine.
If there is one overriding thing I take from the experience it is that there is more that draws us together than divides us, and PR and communication can deliver real benefits to communities. If you want to find out more about the awards go to www.davosawards.com and find out the winners here.
